Why is it necessary to rethink reentry in today’s society? Richard Miles addresses his experience with the unjust legal system in this compelling and inspirational TED talk.
After his exoneration and subsequent release from prison, Miles started his own nonprofit organization– Miles of Freedom– which helps former inmates with rehabilitation and re-entry into society. He has a compelling personal story of hope and determination in the face of adversity and first-hand experience with issues of mass incarceration and wrongful conviction in the United States.
Miles of Freedom Expands into West Dallas
Miles of Freedom is excited to announce new opportunities for growth with United Way Metropolitan Dallas, after being awarded our first multi-year funding. With a mission to accelerate growth in education, income, and health for all North Texans, UWMD has made great strides to serve and uplift communities, and continues to move the goal forward with Miles of Freedom. Funds will be used to assist with the expansion of our new West Dallas satellite office.
CFT Emerging Leaders Grant Recipient
Miles of Freedom is very excited to announce that we were selected by Communities Foundation of Texas Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy Cohort to receive a $10,000 grant to support our mission!! Thank you so much for your confidence in our work!!
