On Saturday, November 2, 2024, MILES of Freedom celebrated its 12th Anniversary at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel. Special guests included Mistress of Ceremony Jazze “Radio Chica” Maxie, Radio One; Master of Ceremony Steve “Scoop” Jefferson, WFAA; Keynote Speaker Professor Cheryl Wattley, UNT Dallas College of Law.
Honorary Co-Chairs for this year’s celebration included Hon. Rafael Anchia, Texas State Representative, District 103; Dr. Froswa Booker-Drew, President and CEO of Soulstice Consultancy; Terry Kittleson, President and CEO, In the City For Good; and Patricia Crocker, President and CEO, The Radford and Patricia Crocker Foundation.
The 2024 Aubrey Lewis Jones Service Awards were presented to Yulise Reaves Waters, Esq., Chief Innovations Officer at Lone Star Justice Alliance; and to Dallas Leadership Foundation for their commitment and service to assist those impacted by incarceration.
The 2024 M.I.L.E.S. Award Recipients included Cedric Smith, Detra Flowers White, and Venson White.
